Did we tell you there was a company brought into Dave's work to find ways to reduce cost? Well, yesterday the employees got to hear the game plan for the next several months. It will include some job cuts... We don't know any specifics about that as it's not imminent. One of Dave's co-workers went through this same thing at another plant about two years ago. He said the "smart" thing to do would be to leave the plant as the upcoming year will be a challenge...
Part of the problem is we just don't know what to do. We can stay here or go to another facility with the company with the same vigor. We don't know what God wants us to do. We see reasons to to both...and we'd be happy to do either. Perhaps things won't be so bad here... Perhaps this is a great opportunity to move on to something with better career growth... We don't know??? :) So, will you please pray for us. This is a small problem to have. We're not distressed or upset. There would be benefits to staying here or going to another facility. We're just praying that God would let us know what to do...
As parents of small kids, we have only a small part of the day to talk and pray about this after we get the kids in bed. We are so tired ourselves at this point in the day, that it's not the best-quality conversation! :) Maybe that's part of the reason why we haven't come to any conclusions - we're tired! :) :)
Bottom line: we need God!
Thanks for praying for this little situation! We love you guys!

God has asnswered prayer in a couple ways already. Yesterday, we got the book Mom sent us on stress. We so appreciate all reminders to trust in God and not get stressed out! And we got to talk to our neighbor last night who has been in industry for many years. He's going to retire in 5 years. He has had jobs in a lot of places. He's from Kansas, and he's worked all the way from Oregon to Florida (even De Ridder!). But he had a lot of good counsel to give us.
We will be praying for you! These decisions really make us look to God- and that is good. So we will pray that He'll give wisdom and show you clearly what He wants. I can understand the couple moments of chatting at the end of the day! That is part of the reason we haven't been able to make up our minds about the vacation thing! Sorry!
Don't worry about the vacation thing! We can't be in a hurry with all these little ones in tow... :) Any jobs in Peterborogh?... :p
